Jan Borré graduated as a producer and jazz pianist from the Ghent Conservatory, and continued studying composition with internationally renowned composer and conductor Dirk Brossé. He is a well-versed pianist and all round musician, and accompanies many different artists, among which Belgian’s finest interpreter of French chansons Jo Lemaire. His interests vary from classical to modern and pop music, and he is professionally involved in arranging music for small ensembles, strings and big bands. However his own productions rely heavily on the use of analogue synthesizers.
As a composer he has written scores for musicals as well as adverts, while his various compositions for films show a particular endowment for distinctive atmospheres, intimate sensitiveness and epic splendour.
His more personal projects involve a joyous combination of funk and soul with Nevergrand, or explore the depths of outer space in the intimate synthesizer-laden project Grayson.
